The Beauty and Peace of Still Water in a Bowl
We love to design and craft large, colorful, durable and gorgeous water bowls for the garden. Our water bowl sculptures bring the wonders of water to your garden without any of the issues or maintenance associated with moving water. No pumps or power... just the wonder and beauty of light shining through and reflecting off of the water in the sculpture to enhance the tranquility of your patio, garden or yard.
We often use "found" and "re-purposed" objects in our bowls, particularly glass and crystal. The use of glass objects can take the bowl from beautiful to magnificent, and allows amazing lighting effects at night. We make bowls for your garden, for your patio, or for inside your house. The water is actually optional, but we encourage using water in any outside bowl as our sculptures are waterproof and wildlife friendly.

Organic Design and Natural Beauty
Our water bowl sculptures deliberately emulate the forms, textures, structures and colors that we see in creation... the flowers, leaves, shells, curves, striations, scales, and grains in organic creations and natural stone. We do not seek manufactured perfection and smoothness... but organic, natural looks that seem to have grown in your garden and aged in place. We want a bowl that mesmerizes the observer, captivates wildlife, and reflects natural light.
We have created massive water bowls that look like flowers, leaves, and geodes... shallow bowls and deep bowls... bright colored bowls, iridescent "mother-of-pearl" bowls, earth-toned bowls, and bowls that look like natural rock. We have mounted bowls on tall columns, medium obelisks, short round columns, on the ground, and on sculptured tree-trunks. We have crafted bowls with the texture of dragon scales, striated bowls, pointed bowls, leaf bowls, and smooth bowls.
We don't use rubber molds or factory-produced molds, but hand-build each bowl with sand, boards, cardboard, leaves, sticks and other materials from nature. We often cast bowls using hosta leaves, iris leaves, grape leaves, rhubarb leaves, straw, and other plants that we grow in our display gardens. The organic materials and molds that we design are destroyed by the process, so no two bowl castings are the same. Our floral water sculptures are often hand-cast from sand-molds that are individually carved and then destroyed during the casting.
Each part of your sculpture will be hand-cast in a custom design from strong and durable concrete materials that we have painstakingly developed to provide a complete balance of look, form and function in handling water. Each part of the water-bowl, inside and out is painstakingly hand-colored by the artist with stable and long-lasting stains and sealants. Each bowl will usually require 15-20 coats of sealants and color depending on the final coloration and "look" desired. We then "fire" the final coating after it is finished, resulting in a ceramic-type glaze of incredible beauty and providing weather-protection.
